Scooby
I remember the first time I met Scooby- It was a Sunday afternoon. August 3rd actually. I was taking a nap to the white noise effect of Bret Baier from Fox News’s voice. Then I felt a pain in my back- a pain that has lasted since that day. It appeared that an unfamiliar dog had jumped on me and woke me from my slumber. Subsequently, my younger siblings and all their friends jumped on the couch to play with it too. The words “Let me play with Scooby” were rich in conversation. I fell to the floor in a similar manner that Woody did on Toy Story when Andy pushed him off the bed to make way for Buzz Lightyear’s spaceship. Since that day, my home life has been less than perfect.
One time…I was on the couch, probably falling asleep to the white noise effect of Bret Baier from Fox News’s voice- When I hear a scratching on the back door. It’s Scooby begging to come in because it’s cold outside. I stared at him for a while (like I always do) and then reluctantly let him in. I checked the weather on my phone and it was like 32 degrees outside. Sissy…
Another time…I was in the Kitchen making some chicken tenders (Schwan’s only carries dinosaur shaped chicken tenders…I’m not complaining!) and I was walking and I tripped over him while he was sleeping in his corner…I know what you’re thinking-he’s got some serious nerve.
And just recently…I was on the couch, probably falling asleep to the white noise effect of Bret Baier from Fox News’s voice- when Scooby came onto the couch and started snuggling with me. Does he have any idea who I am? I played defense for my team, “The Thunder’s” when I was 9! Mutt…
Obviously your feeling my pain right now. I don’t know how I live with it either. But as I live day by day, I realize that my situation is an awful lot like ‘The Black Cat’ by Edgar Allan Poe…one of us is going to have to start shaping up. Maybe he should make an effort to not be so ‘potty trained’ all the time…
